My name is Michael Ryan. This place is my outlet for some powerful (and probably controversial) opinions I have. I apologize in advance to all of those I will offend (and there will be many) with my ramblings.

Since I pay for this space I have no intention of sugar coating my commentary. I care nothing for political correctness, and I firmly believe that other people’s sensitive feelings are their problem not mine. I do not consider any subject, person, or demographic off limits. I am an equal opportunity insulter.

I am an atheist. I am not the sort of atheist who feels the need to try and convince you that religion is wrong. I personally feel that “attack atheists” are not really atheists at all since their behavior suggests that they have elevated disbelief to the level of a religion. I respect your right to believe as you do, please respect mine. It is pointless to email me with the news that I am destined for eternal torment in hell. Constant attempts to “open my eyes” to your version of the truth will serve no purpose other than to annoy me to the point that I feel it necessary to play the part of an attack atheist until you too are as annoyed as I. 

The English teachers among you will, at times, feel the need to set me straight on my piss poor grammar. Don’t! Let my participles hang where they will. I am the king of run-on sentences, incomplete thoughts, misuse of punctuation, and misspelling. I know this and I revel in it! There are plenty of bloggers on the internet who butcher the language far worse than me. Go get ‘em tiger!

Sometimes my postings may seem to contradict earlier ones. This is because I have a fluid intellect, and moods. What I mean by “fluid intellect” is that my mind is not always 100% made up about things. Unlike most people who engage in political commentary, I can be influenced to change my mind. This is not weakness or a lack of conviction, this stems from a humble understanding that I am not in possession of all the facts.

Though I lack a formal education, I am highly intelligent. IQ tests are frequently heavy on geometry questions, and even though I have never taken a geometry class (not even in high school) I have always scored between 135 and 145 on these tests. I tell you this, not for bragging purposes, but rather to give readers an idea of the demographic from which my commentaries hail. Well, and maybe to brag a little.

I don’t fit neatly into any ideological category. Though I typically vote republican, it is not because I always agree with republicans. More often it is a matter of disagreeing with democrats. By currently accepted definitions I am neither a conservative nor a liberal. In most matters pertaining to fiscal policy I am very conservative. In most social matters I am ambivalent, or even liberal. I am above all else a nationalist, and a firm believer in the principles of our, often ignored, constitution. Imagine, if you will, that Theodore Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson had a love child. Now imagine that love child as an adolescent with access to internet porn. If you were successful in building that mental image you now have an inkling of where I’m coming from.

Any readers crazy enough to want to repeat what they read here are welcome to do so, all I ask is that you reference this web site when pasting from it. Failure to do so is a sin, and God will most likely choose to smite you (unless you happen to be a fellow atheist, in which case it would seem I have little recourse).
